Sunday 26th, TT Circuit Assen – The very first event of the Open eSBK is now officially a fact. Together with Electric Motorcycles, the Open eSBK hosted a demo sprint-race during the Ducati Club races. Six drivers pushed their electric machines for 3 racing laps on the track.
The race was won by Kevin Groeneveld on an Energica Ego, provided by Electric Motorcycles. A close second was Marchel Bulthuis (AKA Electric Addict) on his Ego. Ilja Caljouw completed the podium with the Liion-GP of Electric Superbike Twente. The podium was just missed by Jeroen Tielen, Bas Claassens and Bas van Liere. This demo-race is a short showcase of the first official race in August during the Gamma Racing Day. There, 15 riders will be on the starting grid. Applications are already open.
